WHERE TO EAT
The Casa dell'Arte is located in the historic Pronoia district, a quiet neighborhood, very close to the center but away from the hustle and bustle of the mass tourism that increasingly characterizes the old town of Nafplio. In this area, there are some very nice spots that you can easily reach on foot where you can eat and drink in peace. On the main street, called 25th Martiou, we recommend:

A nice and informal spot, perfect for a pleasant drink or a bite to eat. The owner's name is Dimitra, and she is very friendly. You can sit outside or inside. It's ideal for small dishes that pair well with beer, wine, or greek distillates. Good quality and modest prices.

A historic neighborhood tavern where you can find various meat dishes, all cooked on charcoal. Among the most tasty and popular are definitely the pork skewers. The grilled chicken with oil and lemon sauce is also very good. You can eat for 15-20 € per person. In summer, they put tables outside on the sidewalk. In winter, you eat inside, and unfortunately, the venue is not easily accessible for people with disabilities. You can order by phone and pick up the food.

A ten-minute walk from the 'Casa dell'Arte Nafplio' guesthouse will take you to the historic center of Nafplio. During the summer and on public holidays, it gets very crowded with tourists, and you often need to book a table if you want to be sure of getting a seat. There are many restaurants and tavernas; here are some of our recommendations:
WILD DUCK Restaurant
Wild Duck is a restaurant located in the historic center of Nafplio, on the seafront and opposite the port. 
It offers a wide range of appetizers, first courses, meat dishes, fish dishes, and desserts. The dishes, created by Chef Ilias Kossivas, draw inspiration from both Italian tradition, such as spaghetti and risottos, and Greek tradition. Starting from this foundation, the chef has developed truly creative variations. All dishes are impeccably presented as if they were works of art.
Guests can dine indoors, where there are about ten tables, or in a sheltered outdoor area protected from the elements. The venue also has a bar level where cocktails can be ordered. It offers a good selection of Greek wines.

Just outside Nafplio... a bit of tranquility on the seashore.
About a 10-minute drive from Nafplio, following the coastline, you will reach the small village of Nea Kios. Here you can find a bit of peace and quiet, even when Nafplio is full of tourists. There are two taverns where you can enjoy seafood specialties, which we recommend for their quality as well as their location close to the sea. In the center of the village, another tavern stands out for its refined dishes inspired by the traditions of Asia Minor.
BALSAMI Fish Tavern
An excellent place to enjoy seafood specialties. Great selection of appetizers and fresh grilled and fried fish. A peaceful setting with the aesthetic of a typical Greek taverna. It is located in the small harbor of Nea Kios, just steps from the sea. My favorite dish is the "fried cuttlefish."
